LIVINGSTON COUNTY, Ky. -- Authorities were on scene of a crash involving multiple vehicles along I-24 in Livingston County for several hours on Monday.

Kentucky State Police (KSP) started investigating and stated the crash involved a total of five vehicles on July 29.

KSP said their preliminary investigation shows Mansur Kholikov, 24 of Brooklyn, NY, was driving a 2011 semi-trailer truck going east on I-24 when it crashed into multiple vehicles on the road.

Before the crash occurred, KSP said traffic in this area was moving slow ahead of a construction zone. This was reported at around the 32 mile marker going westbound on I-24.

After the truck crashed into some vehicles, those vehicles then crashed into other vehicles, causing secondary collisions, according to KSP. One vehicle was reportedly fully on fire when first responders got to the scene.

The three in the vehicle which caught fire died at the scene, KSP stated. They were identified as Saundra Dodd, 68 of Evansville, IN, along with two children.

Two other people involved in the crash were flown to an out-of-state hospital for treatment for their injuries.

Other people were reportedly taken to local hospitals.

The driver of the semi-truck did not receive any injuries.

KSP is still investigating this crash.

The roadway opened up around 8:40 p.m. on Monday.
