7 injured and expected to survive after vehicle crashes into tree

MURRAY, Ky. (WSIL) -- Seven people were injured and taken to hospitals after a vehicle crashed into a tree.

The Calloway County Fire-Rescue responded to the scene on November 9, just before 1 p.m. to the area of Highway 641 North and Flint Road for the single-vehicle crash.

The fire department stated the vehicle crashed into a tree with the driver trapped and multiple others still inside the vehicle.

Members with the Calloway County Sheriff's Office, the Murray-Calloway County EMS and Marshall County EMS were also called to the scene.

First responders used the jaws of life to get the driver out of the vehicle. Crews also helped get the other six people out from the car as well.

Patients were taken to the Murray-Calloway County Hospital. Three of the seven patients were then flown to other hospitals for treatment of their injures.

The fire department said all patients are expected to make a full recovery from their injuries.

The fire department thanks the 22 firefighters, members with the Calloway County Sheriff's Office, the Marshall County EMS and the Murray-Calloway County EMS, AirEvac 159 and Parker Ford Towing for their assistance.
