Graves County rollover crashes

GRAVES COUNTY, Ky. -- The first incident happened on November 18 at 2:18 p.m. on State Route 94 near Justus Road in Graves County.

Authorities said a 62-year-old woman was driving a 2005 Jeep Liberty, going east on KY 94 when the vehicle drifted off the road, overcorrected and flipped over on its side in a ditch.

Emergency crews arrived at the scene and the woman was taken to a hospital for non-life threatening injuries.

A little over six hours later, at 8:47 p.m., a 42-year-old was driving east on Ky 348, west of Symsonia. A juvenile passenger was also in the vehicle at the time.

Police said Jay Heath, 42, tried to avoid hitting a deer on the road and the vehicle went off the road and overturned.

Heath is suspected of being under the influence of alcohol at the time of the incident and was arrested. The juvenile was taken to the hospital for precautionary reasons.

Heath faces charges of DUI 1st Aggravated Circumstance, Wanton Endangerment 1st degree and other traffic citations.
