Rend Lake Dedication Lot temporarily closed

The Army Corps of Engineers says Rend Lake's Dedication Lot will be temporarily closed starting at 8 a.m. on Wednesday, September 18, 2024, until 8 a.m. Saturday, September 21, 2024.

Franklin County, Ill. (WSIL) -- Avid fisherman, bird watchers and recreationalists will have to temporarily pause their use of Rend Lake's Spillway Dedication Lot. The lot, located on the south side of Dam Road, will close from 8:00 a.m. Wednesday, September 18, 2024, until Saturday, September 21, 2024, at approximately 8:00 a.m.

According to the Army Corps of Engineers, who manage the property, the closure is necessary for parking lot resealing and striping. In a release, Corps officials said visitors can still access the Rend Lake Spillway and Rend Lake Nike Trail on the east side of the lake by using the Spillway Recreation Area parking, on the north side of Dam Road.

For more information you can contact the Rend Lake Project Office/Visitor Center at 618-724-2493 or visit their Facebook page.
