Red Cross opens shelters for storm victims in Illinois and Missouri

MARION, Ill. (WSIL) -- The Red Cross has established shelters to aid those affected by tornadoes and severe storms in Illinois and Missouri.

The shelters are open Friday night to provide a safe place to stay, meals, and assistance from Red Cross volunteers.

The locations include Cornerstone Church at 2705 Walton Way in Marion, Illinois, and the City of Miner Convention Center at 2610 East Malone Avenue in Sikeston, Missouri.

Additional sites are available at the Red Cross Decatur office at 2674 North Main Street in Decatur, Illinois, Grace United Methodist Church at 6199 Waterman Boulevard in St. Louis, Missouri, and the Friendly Temple Outreach Center at 6356 Dr. Martin Luther King Drive in St. Louis, Missouri.

For those impacted by the storms and needing help, visiting the shelters is encouraged. For further assistance and information, call 1-800-RED-CROSS.
