WILLIAMSON COUNTY, Ill. -- Officials arrested a man who they caught with a long-ago expired license and in possession of multiple drugs.Â
Deputies stopped a car near Cambria Road and IL State Route 149 for committing a violation of the Illinois Vehicle Code. The car pulled into the Casey's Gas Station in Hurst.
The officials approached the car and identified the driver as Billy B. Diuguid. This process revealed Diuguid's license expired in 2005.Â
It was then the deputies say they noticed the smell of cannabis in the car. When asked how much of the drug was in the car, Diuguid handed the deputies a pipe for smoking.Â
The deputies had Diuguid exit the car and told him they planned to look through it. Diuguid responded with "you don't have to search the vehicle. The only thing you're going to find is my weed." Diuguid pulled out a bag of Cannabis.Â
Officials arrested Diuguid and searched the vehicle. The deputies found a backpack in the car full of Methamphetamine.
The Williamson County Sheriff's Office says the deputies cited Diuguid with the following:
- Methamphetamine Possession
- Possession of Adult Use Cannabis in a Motor Vehicle
- No Valid Driver's LicenseÂ
- Failure to Wear a Seat Belt
Diuguid was brought to the Williamson County Jail.Â
