Carbondale Wrestler Isaac Smith signs NLI to join Eureka College

CARBONDALE, IL (WSIL) - It was a special day for Carbondale's own Isaac Smith.
Smith is a wrestling star and really came into his own during his senior season.
In front of a packed room he made his college plans official recently.
He will go from being a Terrier to a Red Devil.
Smith signed on the dotted line. He goes from Carbondale to Eureka College.
He ended his final year as a Terrier with an amazing 46-4 record.
Smith always knew he could compete on the college scene; he was just unsure if he wanted to.
That changed once he got invited to a regional wrestling showcase to show off his skills.
"What really changed my mind was after the season I kind of took a little break and got invited to a Missouri versus Illinois all star duel and I wrestled in that and did pretty good. After that, I just realized I could not leave the sport yet it was too much for for me," Smith said.
We wish smith the best of luck in college. There's a good chance he will continue to dominate for the Red Devils.
