GOLCONDA, IL (WSIL) - College decision day is always an exciting time for athletes.

It was an extra special for Pope County high school Cross Country star Ahry Comer

Comer became first Division I. Power 5 signee from Pope County high school since the school opened in 1946.

Ahry's signing day featured 5 major Division I. programs on the table.

Kentucky was the first hat she grabbed, she tried it on then tossed it off.

LSU then took center stage, but again the hat comes on then the hat comes off.

She turns back to get a spare Tigers hat and she chooses LSU over Kentucky, Indiana, North Carolina, and Oklahoma State.

Comer says she expects to help continue LSU dominate in cross county, earn some hardware, and make ¾ÅÓÎÌåÓý Illinois proud.

"I'm hoping I can just make and be a huge part of the team and one day win and NCAA title and progress throughout my time there. I actually made this decision the day that Saturday and made it that Friday night which I already had a feeling I knew where I was going, Oklahoma state and LSU, Cromer said."

A big congrats to the pope county product, we can't wait to seer her suit up for the Tigers at the next level.
