December 4th morning Forecast with Meteorologist Nick Boynton
CARTERVILLE Ill. (WSIL) -- Those breezy conditions are coming into the area with a purpose! Frequent wind gusts around 30mph will be possible through today. Coming out of the SW ahead of our next arctic front, these should help to warm us up into the low 50s! I hope you go out and enjoy the warmer temperatures because they'll be very short lived.Â

Tonight an arctic front moves in from the north and with it will bring breezy winds and an extreme drop in temperatures. We go from the 40s and 50s in the evening to the upper teens by Thursday morning. You add on the winds to these temperatures and many of us will see single digit wind chills. Afternoon highs wont get out of the 20s with winds making it feel like the teens all day long. This is borderline dangerous cold, especially being the first single digit wind chills of the season. Make sure you are layering up on Thursday and don't forget about our furry friends and limit pets outdoor exposure.
