January 7th Evening Weather with Meteorologist Jacie Brianne
CARTERVILLE Ill. (WSIL) -- It's still a winter wonderland, even though our winter storm is long gone. The bitter cold temperatures will keep the ice around. Drive with caution, slick roads and black ice will continue to be a concern.
Temperatures climbed into the mid 20s Tuesday afternoon, but they will plummet overnight. Lows will drop into single digits by Wednesday morning.

Wednesday should bring a little more sunshine. Sun would help melt some of the ice on trees and elevated surfaces. However, it will be the coldest day of the week with highs in the low 20s.Â
Single digit lows are expected again Thursday morning, with highs rising into the upper 20s. Temperatures aren't projected to make it back above freezing until Sunday.Â
We're also tracking our next winter system late Thursday and into Friday. This will bring another chance for snow showers. The good news is, it will be cold enough for just snow.Â
