CHARLESTON, Mo. -- One person has been charged with murder in relation to a homicide investigation which took place earlier in January in Charleston.
Police in Charleston said 18-year-old Jimmy Hudson III, has been charged with murder, armed criminal action, unlawful use of a weapon and controlled substance in relation to a homicide which took place on January 1st, 2024, where Malik E. Jones, 20 of Caruthersville, died from gunshot wounds.
Charleston DPS said Hudson was arrested in Cape Girardeau and will soon be transferred to the Mississippi County Jail.
The incident happened in the 500-block of Ada Street where the responding officer found Jones with multiple gunshot wounds.
Assisting Charleston DPS in the investigation is the Missouri State Highway Patrol and the Mississippi County Sheriff's Department.
