ENERGY, Ill. -- The old visitor’s center at the Crab Orchard National Wildlife Refuge is being demolished.
On Tuesday morning, a demolition crew was picking up the pieces and placing it in large dumpsters.
The old visitors center is along Highway 148 and Pigeon Creek Road in Williamson County. The new visitor center is less than a mile away to the west of this site.
The US Fish and Wildlife Service tells News 3 the project should be completed by July 12.
