Scott City man dead after hit by train, police say

CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo. (WSIL) -- Police are investigating a man's death involving a train in Cape Girardeau on Sunday.

Cape Girardeau Police Department reported their officers were called to the scene in the area of N. Main and Park streets at around 10 p.m. on October 13.

Police said the victim was deceased and identified as Kraig Blair, 32 of Scott City.

An investigation into the incident indicates the man was laying on the train track at the time the train hit Blair, according to police. 

Detectives are continuing to investigate the matter. Police said if anyone has any information on this incident to contact them at 573-335-6621, call anonymously at 573-339-6313 or text "CAPEPD" to 847411.
