One Last Dry Day Before Rain Returns Late Friday

Comfortable

Carterville Ill. (WSIL) -- Another amazing day on tap with temperatures staying in the 70s and mostly clear skies. Our dewpoints are also low today so it will be a comfortable warmth. Tons of sunshine to go around for any outdoor activities today across the area. Tomorrow things start to change.

Friday Evening

Friday I expect most of the day to be dry but clouds will be increasing from the west and we will become mostly cloudy by the evening hours. Rain will start to spread into the area from the SW towards the NE by the evening commute. Initially, the rain will be light until later into the night when we will see heavier showers and some thunder mix in. No severe weather expected just your general thunderstorm activity. But another .5 to 1 inch of rain could be added to our already saturated grounds.

This rain lasts into the day on Saturday with widespread rain turning to more scattered activity during the evening. For the second half of the weekend I expect Sunday to be mainly dry across the area so at least part of the weekend is saved!
