...HEAT ADVISORY REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 7 PM CDT /8 PM EDT/ THIS
EVENING...

* WHAT...Peak heat index values up to near 105.

* WHERE...All of southern Illinois, southwest Indiana, western
Kentucky, and southeast Missouri.

* WHEN...Until 7 PM CDT /8 PM EDT/ this evening.

* IMPACTS...Prolonged hot temperatures and high humidity may cause
heat illnesses.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Drink plenty of fluids, stay in an air-conditioned room, stay out of
the sun, and check up on relatives and neighbors.

Take extra precautions when outside. Wear lightweight and loose
fitting clothing. Try to limit strenuous activities to early morning
or evening. Take action when you see symptoms of heat exhaustion and
heat stroke.

More dreary weather in store for Sunday

More clouds, patchy flurries, and cool weather rounds out the weekend.

Broken skies brought us some extra sunshine on Saturday, pushing temperatures into the low 40s. More clouds threaten to keep temperatures in the upper 30s today. Sunday looks just as windy as Saturday, bringing wind chill values in the upper 20's for some.

Off and on flurries are possible this morning, before calming down through mid day. Another wave of snow and rain showers is possible closer to the dinner hour. Sporadic flurries may persist into the evening.

I'm tracking another disturbance for Monday. I'll be discussing any potential impacts that may bring, this morning on News 3.
